Will
1611 Folio 63 Leicester :Thomas Waze of Rotherby Gent.
Abstract :-
Testator : Thomas Waze of Rotherby Gent
Burial instructions:- in the Churchyard at Rotherby
Note:-This will is an original with a probate note added to the bottom, not a probate copy. It appears to be written by Thomas Waze himself possibly on his death bed. It is very difficult to read and the writing gets very scrawly at the end. The format is not what one would expect from an attorney. At this point it is not possible to make a detailed abstract the major points are listed below.

Saint Matthew's began as a temporary chapel, founded in 1836 in a former Wesleyan Methodist chapel. A permanent church was constructed in 1850, designed by A.D. Gough. A parish was assigned in 1851. It was joined with the parish of Saint Stephen, Canonbury, in 1953. In 1966 the church was demolished | Source (S678)

Lent Assizes 1802 Stafford
No. 70 Hannah Hill age 19 Committed Feb 17 by Rev. W Maden; received 20 March 1802
Charged with on suspicion of privately stealing 21 yards of printed calico from the shop of Richard Friggleton a draper of Wolverhampton.
Found Guilty of Stealing (Not Privately) To be transported for seven years.
Behavior was orderly
Discharged: See No. 296 Convict Register
N.B. Piggot's 1818 Directory lists a William Fregleton Linen and Wollen Draper at 17, High Street, Wolverhampton

Hannah was transported for 7 years arriving in Austalia on the Experiment on 26 April 1804
********************************************************************** ********************
There are a number of sites on the internet incorrectly claiming that Hannah was the daughter of William Asbury and Sarah Stretton born 30 August 1772 in Longdon by Lichfield Staffordshire.
This does not tie in with her correct age (19 in 1802) but possible if we take the age quoted on death/ Burial.
Also the marriage entry at Wolverhampton to Elisha Hill is Hannah Eastbury. I have never seen Asbury, a common name in the Wolverhampton area, written in the Registers as Eastbury. Hannah was illiterate as was Elisha and the Witness Charlotte Bishton. The clerk, William Meready also a witness, almost certainly filled in the register and he was a local of long standing.
Hannah was more likely an Essley from Wednesfield, the registers are currently being examined.

Pallot's Index to Marriages is essential for researchers with London ancestry, as it covers all but two of the 103 parishes in the old City of London. The dates span the time from 1780 to the onset of General Registration in 1837. The more than 1.7 million marriage entries come mainly from London and Middlesex, but also include entries from 2500 parishes in 38 counties outside of London--many not available in other sources. Also included are several records from counties in Wales. With indexing beginning in 1813, several of the registers transcribed in Pallot's index no longer exist, having been destroyed or lost.

The first Kelly's Directory was devoted to London and appeared in 1799. In later years the company's publications gradually extended to cover the whole of Great Britain, county by county, with extra editions devoted to major towns, providing not only a description of each location and its major historical events, architectural features, agriculture and geology, but also a list of the 'Commercial Residents'.
